Every child deserves something special at Christmas. That’s why Wood Street Mission is launching its Christmas Appeal providing new toys and gifts for struggling families with children between 0-14 years old.
Every year, Wood Street Mission helps families around Manchester and Salford celebrate this special time of year with gifts for their children that they are able to select from donations made by supporters. CEO Des Lynch says:
“Our Christmas Appeal is well underway and with over 14,000 toys and gifts having been distributed last year, we shall of course need the help of our supporters once again. Referrals for support are coming in on a daily basis and the cost of living crisis is clearly making a difference to even more families this Christmas. With your help we can make Christmas a special time of the year, for thousands of local children.”
How can you help?
Donate new toys, gifts or books, unwrapped and suitable for children aged 0-14 years old. Chocolate and selection boxes are also much appreciated.
If you’re interested in getting involved, you can download their Christmas Appeal flyer for all the details. They’ve even created a handy list of gift ideas and wish lists that will make it as easy as possible for you to donate. Remember! They are just ideas and Wood Street Mission is happy to receive any donations you have via direct delivery from any retailer.
The deadline for donations is Friday 9th December.
Have your gifts to hand? You can drop them off any time between Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm at Wood Street Mission, 26 Wood Street, M3 3EF. Or to arrange a collection please call 0161 834 3140 or email [email protected]
