Specialist finance and governance support for charities
Beyond Profit is a specialist firm providing finance and governance support exclusively to charities.
We work with trustees and senior managers who want clarity, confidence and professionalism in how their charity is run. Our role is to take the pressure off financial and governance responsibilities, so charities can focus on their purpose while meeting their obligations well.
Why we only work with charities
We choose to work only with charities because the sector is unique.
Charities operate under complex regulatory frameworks, often with limited resources and high levels of responsibility. Financial decisions are rarely just financial. They are values-led, mission-critical and made in the context of public trust.
By specialising exclusively in the charity sector, we bring deep, relevant experience to every engagement and avoid applying commercial templates that don’t fit charitable realities.
How we support charities
Fully Outsourced Finance Function
Acting as a fully outsourced finance function for charities.
Governance, Finance & Admin Support
Providing governance, finance and administrative support to grant-giving trusts with no staff.
Consultancy, Training & QuickBooks Online
Delivering fixed-fee consultancy, training and finance system setup.
Across all our services, we are hands-on, practical and clear. We don’t just advise, we do the work and support decision-making at both board and management level.
Our approach
We take a values-led, professional approach to everything we do. That means:
- Working with a small number of charities to ensure quality and continuity
- Communicating in plain English rather than jargon
- Being proactive, thoughtful and honest in our advice
- Setting clear boundaries that support good governance and sustainable working relationships
We see ourselves as a trusted partner, not a transactional supplier.
Working responsibly
We are selective about the work we take on. This allows us to provide meaningful support, maintain high standards and work responsibly within the sector.
When we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so, because good outcomes start with honesty.
Company Values
Authentic and friendly
What you see is what you get. We are not your typical accountants. Friendly and approachable we take a client-centric approach to focus on your finance, risk and governance needs. As one client put it we don’t do drama we do action.
Knowledgeable
Having worked in the charity sector since 2003, overseeing many different functions we have a wide variety of knowledge and experience of the issues that impact charities. Whilst we can’t claim to know if all we do know where to look.
Open and honest
We tell you how it is and make sure that you understand your finances, any gaps in your governance and support you to fill the gaps.
Conscientious
When we say we are going to get something done, then we do it.
Passionate
We really care about charities and the positive impact they have on society. This passion shows through the added value we can bring to your charity; understanding the idiosyncrasies of charity finance, governance, and structure and how these differ from the private sector. We understand the balance of impact versus the financials. We also practice what we preach, allowing colleagues to take paid time off to undertake volunteering such as being a charity trustee.
A small, experienced team
Beyond Profit is a small team of experienced charity finance and governance professionals.
We value continuity and relationships built on trust. Our clients know who they are working with, and we take responsibility seriously, whether supporting day-to-day finance operations or advising trustees at board level.
Supporting charities to thrive
At Beyond Profit, our aim is simple: to help charities feel confident in their finances and governance, so they can operate well, make informed decisions and continue delivering impact.
