About Sarah

I have been working in finance for about 7 years, following a career change from working in the betting industry for over 20 years. I decided to make the change as the aspect of the job I really enjoyed, which was the calculation side, had become automated. For me it was the numbers and problem solving side of accounting that sparked my interest, as I do enjoy a good puzzle.

Working in accounts also gave me the flexibility I needed when my boys were smaller, and as most software is cloud based, the freedom to work from anywhere I could get an internet connection.

I am looking forward to becoming ACCA qualified once I complete my few final exams. I completed my AAT qualifications in 2021 and wanted to take the next step, so decided on ACCA. Over the years I have come across clients of all types, but it was working with non-profit organisations that I enjoyed the most, which led me to join the Beyond Profit team.

Family

I am outnumbered 3 to 1, with my husband and two boys currently 8 and 10, but I love it!

Favourite Football Club

I don’t mind football, but our house is Rugby all the way, with the whole house supporting St Helens.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy crafting with crochet and sewing being the top of the list. I try to find time to do some Yoga, or Pilates when I have an hour or so spare, which sadly doesn’t happen as often as I would like. Other interests include reading and playing D & D.

I enjoy being in nature and love to go camping with all my boys.
