I have worked in accounts environment for many years having stumbled into it when our family was young and this area of work allowed more flexibility/part time hours to fit around a young family. I then ended up working in legal accounts for 20+ years progressing from trainee to running the accounts office.

In my role at Beyond Profit I am the bookkeeper, and I also do payrolls. Payroll has certainly changed from the days of TAX tables and calculations, thankfully!

I do month end work to trial balance  ensuring all entries balance and are allocated. But occasionally I go back to basics and sift and sort through invoices and receipts ready for entering and processing, ah memories!For some areas of our work it is essential that we are able to work together in a team. I feel that we achieve this successfully, as sometimes two heads (or more) are better than one.
